Consultant Profiles:

Douglas E. Howe is a 25-year veteran of successful new business start-ups in the technology sector, both inside large companies as well as independent commercial enterprises. He specializes in strategic marketing, business development and general management to successfully launch new businesses and deliver strong revenue and profit gains in established companies.  He holds a BA in Languages from Defiance College and an MBA in Marketing from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is a former jet attack pilot with the U.S. Navy, having accumulated 185 combat missions and over 300 carrier landings.

Mr. Howe has received accreditation by the Institute for Independent Business, an international not-for-profit business support organization. Its purpose is to bring timely and practical advice to independent business owners. His mission is to expand the Institute's presence in Ventura, Los Angeles and Santa Barbara counties.

Mr. Howe is an Adjunct Professor of Marketing at Pepperdine University's Graziadio School of Business and Management in Malibu, California.

Mr. Howe is a co-founder of the Southern California Business Advisory Council, a Thousand Oaks (CA) based mutual support and networking organization that provides business leads, business development ideas, feedback and problem-solving response to its B2B members.

Thomas B. Piehn has over 20 years of experience and accomplishment in a variety of government, commercial and consumer-related technology ventures in both Fortune 100 companies and pre-IPO start-ups.  His most recent focus is in video and still digital imaging systems design, IP management, manufacturing, marketing and support.  He holds a BSME degree from the University of Illinois - Urbana-Champaign, an MSME from Loyola Marymount University and has completed additional post-graduate studies at UCLA and USC.
